Managing Asbestos in Domestic Dwellings


WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Anyone who will be exposed to asbestos through their work activities or may have to manage staff carrying out duties involving asbestos

Attendees will gain a fuller understanding of how dealing with asbestos in domestic dwellings differs from a workplace – what other precautions have to be taken – how to fully comply with the legal guidelines – full health and safety adherence.

COURSE PROGRAMME
Awareness of types of asbestos – the potential health effects – possible locations – carrying out and asbestos survey – how to avoid fibre release – safe working methods – procedures to follow on discovering asbestos – signage – protection – personal protective equipment – correct respirators and usage of equipment.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Anyone attending this course will have a clear awareness and understanding of the potential ill heath effects of exposure to asbestos – be able to identify possible locations of where asbestos may be found – a clearer understanding of the types of asbestos – what protection to put in place – people who may be affected – the asbestos register – and how to carry out an asbestos survey
